Stacy Tapke
Biography
Stacy Tapke was first elected as the Kenton County Attorney on November 4, 2014. Prior to her election Stacy worked as an Assistant County Attorney, where her duties included handling civil matters for Kenton County, representing the Commonwealth in guardianship jury trials, assisting families with Casey’s Law and mental health petitions, collecting delinquent property taxes, and prosecuting misdemeanor and traffic offenses. She is the first woman in Kenton County’s history to hold this office.
Stacy has served on several local non-profits and professional organizations, including serving as president of LEGACY, secretary of the Northern Kentucky Bar Association, past-president of the Northern Kentucky Bar Association’s Young Lawyer Section, as a member of the Northern Kentucky Chamber’s Board of Directors, and as a member of the Redwood Foundation. She currently serves as Past-President of the Kentucky County Attorney’s Association and recently served on the Kentucky Association of Counties (KACo) Board of Directors.
Her awards and honors include receiving the first annual Service to Community Award presented by the Kentucky Bar Association’s Young Lawyer Division, the Rising Star award by the YWCA of Greater Cincinnati, the 2014 Vision 2015 Young Visionary Award, and the LEGACY (now NKYP) Legend Award. In 2013 she was named by the Cincinnati Business Courier as one of the region’s Forty under 40.
In 2016 she was honored as one of Northern Kentucky's Outstanding Women of the Year, and in 2018 the Kentucky Attorney General recognized Stacy as County Attorney of the Year.
Stacy and her husband Trey live in Crestview Hills with their two sons, Richard and Teddy.
